Inspired by Danish childcare

Our new log cabin nursery which we opened in January 2009 gives our children a great facility in which to learn and play, both outdoors and inside. It is situated within the grounds of Ravenbank Community primary School at the end of Pepper Street, Lymm.

Rosebank Naturegarten has been designed around nursery needs and is wonderfully inviting for both 3 to 4 year olds in nursery sessions and also for our after-school and breakfast club children. The 200 sq m building provides nursery space, dining, quiet rooms and workshop for a wide range of activities. And with excellent kitchen and staff areas we can cater for children throughout the day.

We have a covered entrance and outside areas as well as a areas for play, exploration and gardening.

The building is environmentally friendly with both a very low carbon footprint for construction and economic in heating. The thick logs in the wall and full insulation to building regulations standard make it warm in winter and cool in summer. It follows many Scandinavian designs which blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor activities.

Our indoor facilities

We used all our experience of 18 years childcare to get the optimum use of space and facilities for our children.

Our main area is divided into separate spaces for a wide range of activities, including a wet area.

The dining area is light and airy with a high roof and hatch to our up-to-date kitchen.Moving Boxes

Our workshop is also set up for messy and craft activities.

We have a level surface throughout and all the facilities you would expect in a modern building.

Our Outdoor spaces

We try and be outside as much as possible. We have a large undercover area and gardens of about half an acre. We have a gazebo to use for group sessions and our "dome" which can be anything from a place for children to sit and chat to a full space rocket dependent upon your imagination.

And imagination is important, especially with our creative building area and large sandpit.Green Fingers

Gardening is important at Rosebank Naturegarten and we have raised beds for children to grow their own vegetables and a potting shed to use for "potting" as well as a base for outside work. A wooded area in the grounds provides a great opportunity for exploring nature.

For children the nursery is a truly magical place with room to breathe and explore.
